Dr Kerstin Jatho

Dr Kerstin Jatho founded 4Seeds out of a simple belief:
that work should be a place where people grow, not quietly disappear.

Born in Germany and raised in Johannesburg, Kerstin brings a grounded, cross-cultural perspective to her work. She’s a teacher at heart and a practitioner by choice, deeply interested in how people actually experience work, especially leaders and managers who carry responsibility and operate under sustained pressure.

Her doctoral research explored a question often overlooked in leadership conversations: not only how leaders lead, but how followers experience leadership and engagement in South African organisations. By examining trust, cultural legitimacy, power, fairness, voice, and shared responsibility in real organisational contexts, her research challenged traditional, leader-centric views of engagement. This research now informs every part of 4Seeds’ approach, keeping it grounded in real workplace experience.

Kerstin works at the intersection of research and real life. Her background spans corporate finance, entrepreneurship, leadership coaching, and organisational development, giving her a deep appreciation for both performance demands and human limits. She understands the tension leaders live with, between results and relationships, ambition and exhaustion.

What sets Kerstin apart is how she shows up. She listens carefully, asks thoughtful questions, and creates
